ICOM OPC-2350LU – Originally introduced as an optional accessory for the 50th anniversary versions of the ID-51E can now also be used with the RS-MS1A Android Terminal Control Software, originally launched for use with the ID-5100 (via Bluetooth connection).The OPC-2350LU can also be used with the ID-31E, ID-51E (original version) and the IC-7100 for picture and text message transfer via the RS-MS1A, which has been recently updated to include the additional compatibility for these radios.The RS-MS1A software is available for free at Google Play (The RS-MS1A works with the Android OS version 4.0 or later). The OPC-2350LU is ideal for owners of the ID-31E, ID-51E and IC-7100 as a means for picture and text transfer purposes (other functions will not work with the ID-31E/51E/IC-7100).The OPC-2350LU includes the USB cables for Micro-B and Type-A connector (see ‘Large Image’ picture).

Showing its commitment to D-STAR, Icom have now released its next generation model in the form of the ID-31E UHF D-STAR Digital handportable. One of the things that instantly strikes you about this new model is how sleek and lightweight it is. But don’t let size fool you…inside the ID-31E is an integrated GPS receiver and fully functional D-Star radio. This gives you the capability to communicate across the globe using the D-Star network but also to track and display GPS information including position, altitude and movement.
The Icom ID-4100E D-STAR mobile radio allows you to make digital voice (DV) and data calls through the worldwide D-STAR network. Like the recently launched ID-51E PLUS2 handheld counterpart, the ID-4100E includes new ‘Terminal Mode’* and ‘Access Point Modes’* enabling an operator to make D-STAR Callsign routed calls through the internet, even from areas where no D-STAR repeater is accessible.
Evolving from Icom’s popular ID-31E D-STAR portable, the ID-51E Dual Band D-STAR handportable possesses new features including dualwatch, 500 extra memory channels (for a total of 1,752 channels), automatic position reply (DV), repeater search functions and AM/FM Receivers.
ID-51E PLUS incorporates popular features found in the original including integrated GPS, an independent AM/FM receiver and V/V, U/U, V/U Dualwatch, but also includes enhancements for digital operation and compatibility with the RS-MS1A free Android application.
